Worked on harvesting and tending to the garden.

We adopted 3 Standard Bronze Turkeys. Unfortunately one died 3 days later. The other two were named Bonnie and Clyde. A few weeks later we adopted 3 Rio Grande Turkeys and 1 Great White.

Built our composting toilet and our humanure pile. Human waste is very high in nutrients and we see it as a incredible waste to use clean water to flush away those nutrients and turn them into a hazardous waste. We defecate into the bucket and mix the wastes with high carbon saw dust. When the bucket is full we empty it into a contained compost pile and cover it with a layer of carbon rich straw. In 3 years we will have nutrient rich “night soil” compost. To learn more about Humanure check out http://humanurehandbook.com/

Began raising meal worms to feed to the chickens.
