James Memorial Cowbells

James loved to scream more cowbell at shows particularly at the encore. He always knew there was one little thing that could make a spectacular.

The James Memorial Cowbells were created to carry forward the joy, laughter, and larger-than-life spirit that James brought to every mountain, concert, and gathering. After finding a memorial bell hanging in the trees at Mission Ridge placed so friends could ring whenever they found their buddies favorite powder stash, I sent James a photo, and he immediately said, “You better do that for me, but it better be a cowbell.” That moment became the spark for this tribute.

Originally, the idea was to hang just a few bells around Copper and some of James’s favorite places. But as friends from Colorado and across the country heard about them, it became clear that this tribute was meant to travel farther. As we all know, there can always be more cowbell. In the end, 333 lime green cowbells were made to share with the many people and places that hold a piece of his story.

These bells are meant to be used, not tucked away.

Ring them at a concert.
Ring them on an adventure.
Ring them when inspiration strikes.
Ring them on an epic powder day.
Ring them when you want your people to find you.

Ring them in a moment when life feels especially vivid and worth celebrating.
Ring them when you miss James.

Each cowbell is a reminder to keep living the dream, loudly, joyfully, and with as much heart as possible.

Ordering one is a way to carry that spirit with you and become part of the shared story. Whether you keep it at home, bring it to the mountain, or gift it to someone who loved James too, this cowbell is both a memorial and a celebration: a small, joyful call to keep showing up fully for life.
